Meditation – Day 8
I woke up and decided I would meditate immediately while lying in bed. What do you think happened? Exactly, I fell asleep and soon after my daughter called me.
That wasn’t a bad thing but that’s not what I intended to do. I have a friend who meditates in bed first thing in the morning but I don’t think that works for me.
I have realized that, for now, I meditate better after putting my little girl to bed, just before 10 p.m.
However, I can’t eat too much at dinner or it won’t work.
Maybe later on, when I have acquired the meditation habit I can change that. I have heard that you can meditate eating, walking or reading, it’s called mindfulness.
So, today I sat on my bed, with a pillow under me and listened to Day 3 of 7 Days of Calm from the app Calm, much like the two days before. The voice talked about paying attention to parts of my body but I could barely hear her 🙂 My mind kept drifting to other matters like work, the past, the future and so on.
Nevertheless, the position felt more comfortable, at least on the legs, although my back still hurt after a while. Suddenly, my eyes began watering which I think has to do with tension in that area.
I enjoyed the practice even if I didn’t take the most out of it. I felt myself improve.
Practice makes perfect, for sure…
