Meditation – Day 15
Today, I decided to give one more chance to the app Aware. I wasn’t disappointed. Day 2 of the 21 days Foundation course was what I needed, mainly focusing on my breath and clearing my mind.
The app calls itself ‘Your personal mindfulness trainer’ and I started to wonder about the difference between Meditation & Mindfulness.
After doing some research I found out that meditation has been around for thousands of years and it has a broader scope than mindfulness. Whereas mindfulness is a type of meditation alongside others like tantra, silence, breathing and emptiness.
Mindfulness is also the act of focusing on being in the present like savouring every piece of food you eat: the taste, the smells, the textures, the colours and so on…
So, mindfulness is one way of doing meditation but there are many others. I do believe mindfulness is very important because today time passes so quickly or so we think so. Time is TIME, 24 hours are still 24 hours, we just feel that it goes faster because we run around all day trying to do everything:
- Spending time with the family
- And so much more…
Mindfulness becomes extremely important to help us live each moment to the fullest so that life doesn’t passes us by and one day we wake up and say:
‘Where did time go?’
Do you practice mindfulness?
