Meditation – Day 7
Consistence! Consistence is definitely important to build a new habit.
I noticed that meditating for the last 7 days has shown me that I have to do it if I want a better life. And being consistent, by doing it every day, has put me on the right path.
However, I still find myself doing the mistake
- meditating at the end of the day;
- doing it with a full stomach.
But, how will I change that?
Well, I have to ask myself if I am willing to wake up 15 minutes earlier and spend them meditating.
Since I usually press the snooze button, which I know I shouldn’t, that’s a big deal for me.
I will set myself a mini-challenge and do it tomorrow morning.
It would lift the weight of having to find the time and the right conditions to do it later in the day and it would also be a good beginning for the day. After all, meditation gives you more focus and helps with stress.
Tonight, on my daily practice, I decided to listen to Day 2 of 7 Days of Calm from the app Calm. The soft female voice talked about concentrating on my breath and of not judging myself too hard if my mind drifts away.
After all, she says, that’s only natural.
I had to change places because my back hurt while sitting down so I just lay on my bed and it felt wonderful.
I can’t say that it has become easier to concentrate on my breath but I am trying to accept myself as I am, with all my faults but also with all the positive attributes. We don’t usually give ourselves credit for the positive stuff.
One day at a time…
Do you judge yourself too hard?
